Our EMPORIUM stars waiting to dazzle are:
Since graduating from UCA I have spent my working life as a designer maker and ceramics teacher.
My work is inspired by my passion for the natural world in general and the flora & fauna of the North Kent Marshes in particular. Structure & textures found in natural forms juxtaposed with textures from found objects appear in Flora & Fauna, Pop up Flowers and Seashore all of which are both decorative & functional.
These collections include a range of domestic ware, clocks, buttons, brooches & large seashore bowls. All my work is hand built & hand coloured so each piece is unique.
In all my work I use fine porcelain clays which emphasise the delicacy of the textures. Soft oxide washes and underglaze colours enhance texture & form under satin matt or shiny transparent glazes.
Victoria Foster is the illustrator behind botanically-inspired brand, Pen & Plant. Working from her studio in Folkestone and on a quiet mission to bring more of the outside in, she creates a range of products using sensitive surface pattern and illustration informed by her love of natural history. There’s more to nature than simple beauty. Just the smallest dose transforms the way we feel.
Is a printmaker working on fabric and paper. The loop range includes purses, planters and cushions in pure linen and cotton combining graphic prints with neon colours. All pieces are hand printed from original drawings and made in Kent.
Jewellery has been my passion since graduating from Medway College of Design in 1991. I now work from my studio in the beautiful location of Oare, on the North Kent marshes. Here, using traditional techniques, I design and create collections of jewellery, one-off pieces and commissions.
